SiDE BY SIDE COMPARISONS

  GOBLIN - SAND TIGER

Note: This is strictly the opinion of the author. I use this technique to quickly
separate goblin from sand tiger when collecting Cretaceous formations in NJ.
There are some species of sand tiger where the enamel does not curve
 around the root arch.

Sand tigers can resemble small goblin teeth, the easiest way to differentiate
between the two is to check the labial side of the tooth. The bottom
of the enamel is curved round the root arch on sand tigers where on goblin teeth
it is fairly straight across.
