Pycondonte mutablis (Morton)

Pycnodonte mutablis is a large Cretaceous oyster. It appears to have a flattish appearance when compared to the other Pycnodonte species. This shell is mildly convex on the lower side and slightly concave on the upper. The outline is more or less circular. I am unsure of its commonality; this is the only specimen we have found so far, but is reported to be common in some locations.
