In Monmouth County, NJ the fossilized remains of the marine reptiles make up
the majority of this group. Dinosaur finds in New Jersey are rare, with
the duckbilled dinosaur being the exception.
Common stream finds tend to be scrappy, usually limited to isolated
teeth, some vertebrae and an assortment of bone fragments. The remains
of the marine turtles and mosasaur teeth are the most common finds.
